Historical information

Photos show the Yarra river and the shipping turning basin that was used prior to the construction of the Spencer St bridge. In the view are are steam hauled suburban trains, Flinders St A signal box, Queensbridge, and the wharves on either side of the river. The viaduct was expanded to four tracks in 1915.
