Mt Beauty was constructed by the SECV in the late 1940s. Built as a construction town for workers and their families during the construction of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme.
Significance
This photo shows the shops and cars in Kiewa St, Mt Beauty and the houses and Chalet in the background in the early 1960s.
