Historical information
The Mt Beauty Progress Association was an important community service group that raised an enormous amount of money to buy equipment etc. for local community activities ie. kinder, schools etc. It supported the community with projects and events. Significance
Mt Beauty Progress Association was formed by employees of the SECV working on the KHES. This activity is of historic and social significance and can be compared with activities of today especially as Mt Beauty was built as a construction town for the Keiwa Hydro Electric Scheme and is now a small town with the added influence of tourism.
