This note book contains a list of items bought from Swinton and Sons, Warrnambool from April to October 1895 . The buyer is Mrs. Brass of South Warrnambool. A perusal of the items bought suggest they were not just for a house hold but possibly for a small general store. The Brass family is a well known one in South Warrnambool. John Brass, a pioneer settler, was a lighterman and boatman at the harbour. He was accidentally drowned in 1895. The firm of William Swinton and Sons was a prominent one in Warrnambool established in 1865.
This item is of some interest but needs further research
