Historical information

leggings or gaitors were part of the uniform issued to soldiers to help protect their legs and uniform. The idea is to wrap around lower legs. It is believed the original owner was called "Pitt".

Physical description

Dark brown leather leggings with 2 leather straps to tighten around legs. Two straps - first one wrapping around leg 3 times to tighten. Second strap - small one at the top of the leg to hold it firm. Two metal studded loops at back to loop straps through.

Inscriptions & markings

Stamped "Pitt 1941" also "15" and "H" on both leggings.
