This is a military, very cold environment jacket. Suspect Korean War vintage, possibly British or Aust. made.

1. This is a green jacket, 100% lined with fur. It has a raised fur lined neck. It has two pockets on lower front. The pockets have an inner neck (5 cms). Pockets held shut with buttons. The front is held shut with a metal zip and big buttons. The buttons are 28mm diameter, light brown. The wrists have draw straps to seal out cold. Ref: The lining inside:- Rear section fully sewn in, in the two front panels, the bottom edges are not sewn in. 2. Scarf. Woollen, Khaki, thick.

Written on front left jacket chest is name - PEARSE.

This book of Postcards was sent home by W.H. Field No 18440 to his wife Bertha, refer Cat No 7848 for his service details.

Postcard booklet, card covers brown with text in green and red, on the left is a town Crest in green and text in red. on inside plain page is text in blue pen, The detachable cards cover all sorts of places from Church's, hotels, theatres, buildings, wharf's.

On Crest, "Marcue C.V". "Le Harve 24 Cartes pos tales detachables". on plain page, "Have been at this place 10 weeks - Love and kisses from Will - June 10th 1918"

Harold Grant initially enlisted in the CMF No V36042 on 2.7.1940 age 36 years, transferred to the 2nd AIF 1.7.1942, listed as served in the Middle East 6.9.1942 - 12.2.1943, served with BCOF in Japan, listed as served in the Interim Army 1.7.1947 - 12.10.1948, discharged from the Army 19.10.1948

There is several interesting photos of damage to Darwin Hotels by AIF units disgruntled at not being sent overseas.
