Physical description
Badge large pressed brass, comprises an eagle with outstretched wings and claw holding a type of staff. Through the centre on a scroll are raised lettering, on the rear are two lugs. Item is curved to fit a German helmet.

On the face, " MIT. GOTT. FUR. KOENIG. UND. VATERLAND",
Central are letters "F R".
English translation meaning, "With God for King and Fatherland".
