In 1957, its first year as an active residential college, International House hosted a drama presentation called 'Oriental Rendezvous'. Domestic and international students from the University of Melbourne presented cultural performances, including Rajeswary Thambiah, a science student, and Lalita Rajasooria, an arts student, both of Malaysia.
