In 1957, its first year as an active residential college, International House hosted a drama presentation called 'Oriental Rendezvous'. Domestic and international students from the University of Melbourne presented cultural performances, including Mohamed Shah bin Hussan, Isa Ahmad, Zubaidah Mohd Said, and Abang Bohari, all of Malaysia.
