It is not clear what this basket was used for; however the shape and the position of the handles suggests it was used for carrying washing. Cane baskets are commonly used in domestic situations.
This basket has no known provenance but is retained for display purposes.
This basket is woven with cane. It is oval in shape with a lid attached with wire hinges. The base is concave. There are handles at two ends.
