Alfred Landauer was Born in Vienna 13/06/1910. He was a commerical artist who arrived in Australia on board the "Dunera".
Watercolor and ink of three camp huts. Large trees at the rear of the huts. Several internees are reclining in chairs outside each hut. A guard tower is in the distance . A fence runs along the side of the painting and a garden and green grass follow the length of the fence.

The zinc 1 Reichspfennig coin was minted by Nazi Germany between 1940 and 1945 during World War II, replacing the bronze version. It is worth 1/100 or .01 of a Reichsmark. Made entirely of zinc, the 1 Reichspfennig is an emergency issue type, similar to the zinc 5 and 10 Reichspfennigs, and the aluminium 50 Reichspfennig coins from the same period.
Obverse: Reichsadler with swastika. Lettering: Deutsches Reich 1943 Reverse: Denomination and two oak leaves. Mintmark below the denomination and between leaves. Lettering: 1 Reichspfennig A

Given to Acting Captain Austin Appleby by and internee. Used by the Appleby family for over 50 years. Originally sent out by the German Red Cross to POW's and internees in the Tatura area in 1943.
Artificial Christmas tree on wooden stand decorated with bells, stars and candles, supplied to Camp 3 by the Red Cross.
Inscription on original box: Weihnachtszweige Die "Goldenen Nuisse" sind gefult also knacken 15 stuch. Translation reads: Christmas branches. The "Golden Nuts" are filled, therefore crack (them). 15 pieces.

Vincenzo Galea was an Italian POW in Camp 13 Murchison. This portrait of Valma Paterson was painted from a photograph supplied by her father George Paterson, a Hygiene Officer with the Australian Army.

Ole Helsten was a Finnish merchant seaman, who was interned at Loveday SA and Graytown camps Victoria during WW2.

The newly married couple, Friedrich and Aline Vollmer (nee Zollinger) were Templers who were internees in Camp 3 Rushworth. They were married in camp.

Dr Carl von Brandenstein was born in 1909 in Hanover, Germany. He studied oriental languages and the history of religion at Berlin University (1928-1934) and Leipzig (1938-1939). His doctoral thesis was a dissertation on the iconography of Hittite gods. He was arrested in Persia in 1941 and sent to Australia where he was interned at Loveday Camp South Australia and in Camp 1 Tatura from January 1945 until his release in August 1946.

Some of the H S K Kormoran crew were house in camp 13. The German cross is a memorial to their fallen comrades.
