This is a pair of Army GP Boots. Made from leather with moulded rubber soles. They have been lacquered a shiny black. Size 11. They are ankle boots with 8 eyelets for laces on each side. The laces are black soft cordage, material unknown.
Stamped inside the boots is “1/99” in white paint.
This is a set of 28 photographs taken at a CO’s Parade at the Army Survey Regiment, Fortuna, Bendigo in 1992. On this parade WO1 Bill Jones received his commission and by promotion to Captain from CO LTCOL Rene van den Tol. Command of the unit was handed over to LTCOL Rob McHenry. It is probable the commissioning and handover ceremonies occurred on the CO’s Parade. LTCOL Rene van den Tol was CO from 1989 to 1992 and LTCOL Rob McHenry was CO from 1992 to 1993.

The main tasks undertaken by technicians operating the KLIMSCH Commodore large format camera were enlargements and reductions of map reproduction material. seen in photo .1P is at the operating console. See item 6189.4P for more information and photos of CPL Whaling operating the KLIMSCH camera. Orthophoto mapping provided the Survey Corps with the capability to produce map products quickly in the event of a crisis. These are four photographs of equipment used by the Army Survey Regiment to produce orthophotomaps. The WILD OR1 orthophoto projector and workstation shown in photos .3P and .4P was introduced in the mid-1980s. It was the second-generation equipment used to orthorectify colour and monochrome film aerial photography, replacing the system introduced in 1973. See items 6124.5P and 6133.4P for more photographs of orthorectification equipment.

Khaki trousers - Two side pockets, one hip pocket. 3. Sam Browne belt - tan leather. Brass fittings includes sword holder. 4. Scabbard, tan leather with a silver top. Suits a sword. 5. Hat - peaked, khaki with dark Rising Sun Badge. 6. Belt - khaki woollen with dark copper buckle. Inside belt are light brown buttons. 7. Tie - Khaki woollen. 8. Shirt, Khaki, cotton polyester with Sgts stripes.

Brown leather flying helmet worn to keep warm. Fully enclosed down to shoulders with an opening for the face. Small buckle on each side at the point of the ears. Series of six holes around each ear. Some seams are coming apart.

"John Patrick Kelly" No. 2077, enlisted 26/5/15 in the 3rd Reinforcements in 24th Battalion, at age 28. Served in Gallipoli and France. Was WIA on 5/8/16 and discharged 15/6/17 due to his injuries.
A.4 size, typed letter containing a general reference for John Patrick Kelly from his Platoon Captain, dated at top and signed at the bottom, recomm3ending him as a good honest employee.

Letter in relation to unidentified soldier. Son of Mrs. Barbour, presumably a member of the Victorian Regiment, who died of illness during the Boer War during the year of 1900 in South Africa. Believed to be Private Robert Barbour S/N 94, who died of Enteric Fever at Bloemfontein on 6 May 1900.

This six-postcard group is the third in a series of records of items in the collection of Edgar Dawson DCM. Dawson was the Regimental Sergeant Major of 57th Battalion, AIF. The 57th had a company of men largely from Bendigo and Eaglehawk. These postcards are from his personal album. Many are annotated in Dawson's hand with explanatory notes on the subject. 1. Two collar badges for RAA Uniforms. Letters "RAA" in gold metal with line across top and bottom. Mounted on apiece of hard cardboard. Each attached by two studs. 2. Gold metallic emblem of the Royal Australian Artillery (RAA). RAA letters written across the motto, going across the bottom and a crown on top. Two gold studs attached to back.
Motto "Quo fas et gloria ducunt" which is latin for "Where right and glory lead."
