The photo shows former decoration of the Crown Hotel and corner store. From where the photo was taken, it also shows the avenue of elm trees before the service road was built on this western part of Learmonth St.

Example of late 19th Century home built by Irving and Glover for Abraham Baxter, a well known engineer, railway contractor and horse racing enthusiast. The estate consisted of about 300 acres, taking in the northern and eastern faces of Green Hill. The family lived at "Mt. Helen" until 1908. The house has been restored in recent in recent years.
The fine brick house is an example of late 19th century home built and occupied by the Baxter family until 1908.

The weatherboard house was the former vicarage for the adjacent historic Anglican Church in Warrenheip St., Buninyong.
The house is of historic significance and is a good example of a weatherboard house of its Victorian era.

Cast iron gates commissioned from foundry at Castlemaine, for entrance to Buninyong Cemetery, Midland Highway. One pedestrian gate, one double gate. Gates acquired 1894. Originally olive green, gold-tipped spears. Painted white 1930s - 1940s. Damaged c1985, repaired by Mr Ron Nicholls, Buninyong. Repainted olive green 1992.

Buninyong Industrial history

"The sawmill where the boxes were made for the Butter and other products. A railway line crossed the Main Road to the factory which was on the land below the Watkin's house (once the Railway Hotel, the brick house on the side of Larmonth St. hill.)
