Physical description

The painting depicts a large body of water with a shore line in the foreground on the left. Depicted in shades of grey, the calm water features a patch of white in the centre. In the background to the right, is a distant view of a small patch of land covered in trees. Behind the land is an out of focus view of mountains in the distance. The top half of the work features a grey cloudy sky. The work has a gilded ornate frame with cardboard and gold mounts and glass.
