Print, The Undertaker's Assistant, 1984

Artists statement

Artist comment: These three prints (The Groom, The Undertaker's Assistant, The Organist) are part of a series on forebears of Portland. The drawings are taken from people in a collection of photographs belonging to the Johnson Family of Portland. The "Old Lady" and "The Wedding" are part of the same series. I designed the background to each drawing to suit each character's expression.
