Historical information

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, were to have toured Australia in 1952, but this was postponed following the death of her father, King George VI.
The visit happened in 1964 instead and was the first to Australia by a reigning monarch.
