Letter written by Mrs Jane Fawthrop, Launceston, to her son Thomas Ward, prior to his departure to England at the age of 16. It was his first voyage as an apprentice under Captain Cairncross, who was a friend of the family.Displayed in glass bottle in History House for __ years.
