This is a superb piece of work that contributes to the study of one of the most complicated and controversial aspects of American involvement in Vietnam. It looks in detail at an area of news coverage that has not received sufficient attention. What launders has done here is also important to a better understanding of how information and perceptions of American military and foreign policy are developed. He clearly establishes that the role of the news media for a far more complicated issue than popular opinion and general assumptions credit.
