Eldest daughter of Walter and Fanyy Withers, Emily Gladys in the fortified trench constructed by her younger brother Charles Withers (aka Bill) and his good friend from school, Mervyn Britain at the Withers family home, Southernwood, Eltham.
The view is looking to the east with Main Road and associated buildings near ridge in distance.
