Box Hill Band "rehearsing the Quickstep" at Box Hill Oval, prior to competing at the Maryborough New Year's day Highland Gathering" in the early 1920's.
The donor's father, "Jim Wilson, as the bass drummer and the side drummer's name was Edie (?). Both lived in Lexton Road. It was the period when the Linden sisters, Peggy and Grace, sang with the band, at concerts and recitals in the old Regent Theatre on the corner of Watt St and in the old rotunda in the gardens in Whitehorse Road." Mr. Rumney was the bandmaster.
