This book is the result of an oral history project. Memories of elderly citizens were taped and edited. It recalls daily life in the past that is entertaining, instructive and reflective, covering topics such as housing, education, work religiion, politics, class, transport, commerce, landscape, changes in the neighbourhood, the effects of the Depression and the World Wars on the district.
