Biography. The public life of Australia's Sherlock Holmes, reproduced from Christie's writing. John Christie, a Scotsman, came to Australia in 1860s and joined the Police Force as a detective in 1867 and appointed Revenue Detective 1888. He died 1927 and is buried in Box Hill Cemetery.
