Portrait of Alexina Duncan (nee Butcher) who was the wife of David Duncan, the first treasurer of the Port Phillip Farmers' Society in 1848. The Port Phillip Farmers' Society eventually became Melbourne Royal.
The painting is part of a pair with a portrait of David Duncan.
