Alf Bentley (10907-1979) began an automotive business from his home in the 1930's. By the late '30's he had started a bus service and both businesses were operating from Forest Street. The business expanded to include all the school bus runs and in 1954 the name was changed from Bentley's Bus Lines to Castlemaine Bus Lines.
