This is a collection of four photographs taken in the 1960s of Royal Australian Survey Corps displays promoting its role and technical capability to acquire, process and disseminate topographic information to the Australian Defence Force. Map products formed a large part of this topographic Support. The photos may have been taken at a Careers Expo or a Department of Defence promotion. It is possible the photos were taken at separate events.

This is a military, very cold environment jacket. Suspect Korean War vintage, possibly British or Aust. made.

1. This is a green jacket, 100% lined with fur. It has a raised fur lined neck. It has two pockets on lower front. The pockets have an inner neck (5 cms). Pockets held shut with buttons. The front is held shut with a metal zip and big buttons. The buttons are 28mm diameter, light brown. The wrists have draw straps to seal out cold. Ref: The lining inside:- Rear section fully sewn in, in the two front panels, the bottom edges are not sewn in. 2. Scarf. Woollen, Khaki, thick.

Written on front left jacket chest is name - PEARSE.

Ribbons are: War medals 1939-45. Australian Service Medal. Belonged to Lt. Col. E.P. Seymour. One of the CO's of 38 Bn.

1. Jacket - woollen, black. Lt Col Rank Badges, gold, on epaulettes. Rising Sun badges on collars. Aust Commonwealth Military Forces. Four pockets. Four gold centre buttons. Top two pockets held shut with a gold button. 2. Trousers, woollen, black with red vertical stripe on sides. Pockets - 1 coin, 2 hip, 1 rear. Fly held shut four black buttons. 3. Shirt (ex) white short sleeved. 1 button missing. E... its cotton pocket. 4. Belt, Woollen black. Brass buckle. Two mini straps on inside of belt. 5. Tie, black, cotton. 6. Ribbon bar WW2 (2 medals). 7. Hat peaked black. Formal wear. Gold braid on brim. Red band and red piping. Rising Sun Badge. Aust Comm Military Forces.

On trousers, written on two pockets is name: Seymour. Hat has a ticket inside. Lt. Col. E.P. Seymour.

There are 57 names on the Church Roll, only 22 have photos with their details. The Author is Larna Malone. She also published the Book, "The First Lot". The first men to enlist in Bendigo WW1. Refer Cat No 4798

Postcard booklet, card covers brown with text in green and red, on the left is a town Crest in green and text in red. on inside plain page is text in blue pen, The detachable cards cover all sorts of places from Church's, hotels, theatres, buildings, wharf's.

.1) the original was taken on ANZAC Day 1919. The Battle Honors are those Australia was awarded. The originals of these were brought home by W.H. Field No 18440 from England. Refer Cat No 7848 for his service details.

Harold Grant initially enlisted in the CMF No V36042 on 2.7.1940 age 36 years, transferred to the 2nd AIF 1.7.1942, listed as served in the Middle East 6.9.1942 - 12.2.1943, served with BCOF in Japan, listed as served in the Interim Army 1.7.1947 - 12.10.1948, discharged from the Army 19.10.1948

There is several interesting photos of damage to Darwin Hotels by AIF units disgruntled at not being sent overseas. Allen Edward Malone VX46797 enlisted in the AIF on 13.7.1940, allotted to 8th Division, transferred to 2/4th Australian Field Workshops 8.2.1941, Moved to the NT arriving 8.5.1941, unit renamed 23rd Independant Group Ordnance W/Shops, moved to QLD 4.6.1943, posted to 2/137 Brigade W/Shops, promoted A/Cpl 26.6.1943, embark 12.7.1943 for New Guinea, detached for duty with 6th Aust Field Ambulance (Had previously done this with prior unit as a medical Orderly) Promoted Cpl 8.12.1943, Leave to Victoria 5.11.1944, embark at Townsville for New Britain 2.2.1945, disembark Brisbane 5.6.1945, discharged from the AIF 28.11.1945
