Dance Program - Tawonga Hall

Historical information

The Tawonga hall was used for community events eg. Dances, Balls and Debutante Balls. The dance Program was displayed for the Musicians and Dancers/Guests to be ready to dance when the music started.
Traditional Ballroom dances include the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Quickstep. Latin Ballroom dances include the Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive

Significance

Handmade and used by residences of Tawonga and the Kiewa Valley. Possibly unique.

Physical description

Handmade, tall wooden box with opening at the front showing wooden slots for dance labels eg. waltz,. It has a knob at the top side. The knob can be turned to rotate the dances so that the current dance is at the top. The labels are on white paper and printed in large green letters.
