This book is the product of research into the author's branch of the Bell family who emigrated from Scotland to Australia in 1839, with a particular focus on the direct forebears who pioneered Gulf Station in the early 1850s and continued to reside at and manage the property for another 100 years. In this revised edition, newly acquired insights into the personalities and activities of those ancestors at Gulf Station are included.
