Historical information
The avenue of trees is along the main pathway of the old section of the Sunbury Cemetery. In 1862 the cemetery in Sunbury was laid out in Christian denominational sections. There were other sections set aside for paupers, heathens and pagans. Over the years the size of the cemetery has increased to keep pace with the growth of Sunbury's population.
