Standard equipment as used by Australian servicemen during the Vietnam conflict. This type of level was first issued for use in WW2.

Physical description

Khaki metal instrument with lens-viewfinder and numbers on circular range finding wheels. Object is stored in a khaki metal box with canvas carry straps. Attachments inside the box prevent it from slipping. Red label attached to strap says the object cannot be repaired.
