On the back cover is the RCH trained nurses' badge (red Maltese cross on gold background inside a white circle) with the motto ' Infirmis Opitulare' (to care for the sick and infirm)

Summary
The book is a tribute to the nursing service of the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. From the time of the hospital's opening in 1870, the first nurse training school in 1889, and the transition to tertiary education, up to time of publication in 2006
