Part of the Coates Family Collection. This refers to "Thomas Coates" and a telegram advising that he is Missing in Action in June 1941. Refer cat No 9654.4 for his service details.
Physical description
1. Small white envelope marked in blue "Telegram" and stamp on front acknowledging personal delivery.
2. Telegram on brown paper with a date stamp and message in blue, giving addressee and address and the fact that Tom Coates was missing. Note folded in four.
Inscriptions & markings
1. Stamped "Postal acknowledgement Delivery Personal, Mr. J. Coates, 45 Phillipson St. Albert Park”, In pencil, "114 Richardson".
2. Date stamp “29 JE 41” at Melb. Message sent on behalf of Minister for the Army.
