Christ Church Great Western
Celebrating 100 years of worship in this church Sunday, 15th, May 2011
Great western came into existence with a gold rush in February 0f 1858, when the Church of England represented by Rev. Philip Homan. He travelled around a large district which included Great Western. There he baptised children in the tents of the miners and Married Thomas Metcalfe and Caroline Bale.
Today their Descendants, the Bullock and Hurley Families still live in Great Western
