Mr. Johnston and Grace McKenzie were guests at the official opening of the Alister Clark Memorial Rose Garden in Bulla on the 12th December 1999. Mr. Johnston is the grandson of James Stewart Johnston, who is the grandson of James Stewart Johnson, Chief Superintendent in the Victorian Colonial Government and in 1864 established his winery and vineyard at 'Craiglee' in Sunbury. Grace McKenzie and her family are long time Bulla residents.
