This document records the history of the International Map of the World (IMW) at 1:1Million Scale. Mr H. Ereta, Chief of the Cartographic Section of the United Nations Department of Economic Development and Social Affairs gave a lecture on the IMW and described the history and development of the map series in post 1964. This document is a copy of that lecture.
