This embossing press was used to stamp, authorise or otherwise identify documents relating to the “United Ancient Order of Druids” Nelson Lodge No. 257.

Physical description

Heavy cast iron implement with spring loaded lever, which when depressed brings two dies together to make an impression on paper. The press is painted with black enamel paint and gold ‘coach-work’ filligree.
