Decorative matchbox covers, also called sleeves, were designed to fit over standard matchboxes while leaving the striking side exposed. Designed for kitchen use or for smokers. They were frequently used to advertise a range of items or events.
Physical description
Enamelled match box cover with a red and black trim and red and black inscription. Essendon football fixtures for 1929 on the back.
Inscriptions & markings
