St Peter and Paul's Catholic Church was built in Buninyong in1858 as a school and church, architect Shaw and Dowden. Part of the Parish of St Alipius, Ballarat East.
A very early church of the district, with a congregation existing since 1851 when a Catholic school was opened in Buninyong.
