At the bottom right of the first page is a printed black and white donation sticker: black Maltese cross in circle, "This book was donated to Alfred Archival Association Nursing Division by" D.Owen (handwritten in black ink) The previous catalogue number is handwritten in black ink on this sticker. Above this sticker is a black stamp 'Cameron Close, 155 Warigal Road, Burwood 3125. At the bottom of the title page, and also the bottom of the last page is another black stamp "Cameron Close Library 155 Warigal Road, Burwood 3125.

Summary

This book has not been written for ex-prisoners: they know the homesickness of exile, the tyranny of bondage; it was written for those people of today who know little of the experiences of these men and women, of their courage,endurance and pain. It has been written for the generations to come
