Historical information
The Kiewa Astronauts Club was formed by Kiewa Butter on radio 2AY in the 1970s and 1980s. At that time Kiewa Butter was produced by the North Eastern Dairy Company. The Club also had a theme song and children often visited the Radio 2AY studio to participate in broadcasts, competitions and activities.
The Club rules were:-
To do a good turn for Mother or Father every day
To observe the safety rule
To listen to Kiewa Astronauts Club Radio news as often as possible.
Significance
This badge is significant because it represents a club formed by the North Eastern Dairy Company at Kiewa, Victoria in conjunction with Radio 2AY to promote their products to children.
