L'Oiseau-Lyre, was established in France by ex-patriate Louise Hansen-Dyer, Melbourne socialite and one time Lady Mayoress of Melbourne. The book collection at Hymettus contains examples of her publications, records and ephemera such as Christmas cards.

Significance

An example of a fine press production undertaken at L'Oiseau Lyre in France by Louise Hansen-Dyer. The paper is Japon vellum watermarked L'Ouseau Lyre. The cover design is fine example of Art Deco.
