Historical information
The inside and facing page bear a photo and tribute to Mrs M Randle. Mrs Randle is pictured planting the Red Cross Tree on 2 July 1959. Reference is made to purchasing a Rowan Tree for the centenary memorial in the park, and a plaque for the Red Cross Tree was to be arranged.
Alice Randle was president of the branch from its inception in 1939 until her death in January 1964. A minutes' silence was held in remembrance of Mrs Randle at the February 1964 meeting. It was at this meeting that members decided to purchase the large minute book and include a tribute and photo in the opening pages. They also decided to have the 5 previous minute books bound.
