Historical information
The Rupertswood Freezing and Canning was situated on land that is now occupied by the Sunbury Secondary College. It functioned for a few years in the first decade of the twentieth century. A lot of the tinned rabbit meat was exported to England.
Significance
The canning of rabbit meat for local and overseas markets was another attempt at controlling the rabbit plague problem in the state.
