Historical information

In 1911, Dr. William Faulkner built 'Ardcloney House' which was facing the intersection of Evans and Macedon Streets. The house also included garage and sleeping quarters for his chauffeur. It was Dr. Faulkner's residence for many years in Sunbury. In the early 2000s it became a 24 hour daycare hospital. Since then a number of modern medical buildings have been built on the surrounding grounds. Entry P0857 has an older image of the building and more detailed information about the mansion.

Significance

'Ardcloney House' is one of Sunbury's significant buildings that can be seen in the old township precinct.
