Historical information
In 1949 the Progress Bus Company was contracted to take students who were attending High, Technical or non-government schools, from Sunbury to Essendon. The company later transported people employed at the Asylum and Greenvale Sanatorium to and from Essendon and Melbourne. Essendon High and Essendon Technical were the closest schools where Sunbury students could receive post-primary education at the time.
