Summary

Willoughby's Fifty Years 1865-1915
Willoughby is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, in New South Wales. The Municipal Council of Willoughby encompasses the suburbs of Artarmon, Castle Cove, Castlecrag, Chatswood, Chatswood West, Middle Cove, Naremburn, North Willoughby, Northbridge, Willoughby and Willoughby East.
The members of the Willoughby Council felt it fitting to produce a history of Willoughby's first 50 years as part of its Jubilee celebrations held in 1915. Covering the period from 1865 to 1915, details of the
primary matters of public importance are mentioned, along with council matters and persons. A short account has been written about some of the businesses, industries and institutions. This together with
information on pioneers of the district (both past and present), and the many photographs included makes for a wonderful historical record of this region.
