These images feature various personnel from 2/8th while training at Biet Jirja, the large AIF training camp in Palestine in 1940-41.

They are part of the collection of Bill Thomason, a Bendigo collector of militaria. The collection includes two albums put together by a Lieutenant Brown in 1940-41, possibly attached to the 19th Training Battalion at Biet Jirja in Palestine. The albums record events and personalities from units passing through the camp, including many friends of the author in a range of units.

The images include those taken by Brown, along with images seemingly supplied by friends from different units.
