Historical information

This church was built between 1868-71 and opened on 17/9/1871. The architect of the building was architect R. Dowden.
This gothic building is built from rubble stone, granite courses, and facings; and with its tower — some 60 feet high — stands out in bold relief, giving tone and importance to the south-east end of the town.

The foundation Stone was laid on 18/1/1869. The text of the foundation stone is not known. Information/photographs are invited.
