A history of the Alfred Hospital Nurses League (AHNL) On October 18 1918, Greta Lyons, 'on behalf of present and past trainees' asked the Alfred Hospital's Manager's Committee for permission to start the AHNL. Permission was granted, and the first meeting was held on November 25, 1918.
