Historical information
This is a photograph of The Nook in Sunbury, which is a popular passive recreation area in the Jackson Creek valley. Over the years it has been used for various activities. First Nations People used the creek as a food source while Europeans grew cereal crops and vines. From the later years of the 19th century when outdoor swimming became a popular activity, a deep hole in the Jackson Creek became the town's swimming pool until 1966, when an outdoor pool was built at the Aquatic Centre in Ligar Street.
