A brown hardcover textbook with black lettering on the spine with the title and author's surname. The front end papers show a coloured world map of Zones of Vegetation with 12 Legends at the bottom detailing the zones to be found on the map.On the back of the front end paper, written in grey pencil are geographical notes filling the page. There is a brief pencil note on the opposite page written near the title. The frontispiece opposite the title page has a black and white photograph of the Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand. The title page has full details of the author A.V.G. James with his qualifiactions. Publishing details are printed at the bottom of the page. On the back of the title page is a dedication to Mr James' son: Flight Sergeant Kenneth James.Throughout are black and white charts, maps, diagrams, photographs and illustrations. 334p. The back end papers have a black and white map of the world: Natural Regions, with 15 Legends at the bottom detailing the zones to be found on the map.

Summary

This text book is the first of its kind as it adequately covers a definitive syllabus and is written for Australian schools. Good school teaching in Geography is vital for students to understand the interaction between man and his environment, both astronomical factors with which climatic zones and seasonal changes are concerned and the physical land forms.
